As I understand it, this book is a cult classic, and I was very curious to read it. I recently read (sort of) Frederick Brooks's The Mythical Man-Month. Our standards, in other words, are shifting ones---a fact that has to be taken into full consideration in programming language design. This book has only one major purpose—to trigger the beginning of a new field of study: computer programming as a human activity, or in short, the psychology of computer programming.
